Spring Listen (via Zoom in Lockdown)

a musical celebration of spring in North Devon!

Join local musicians Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll on a musical spring journey
❖ Take part in a series of online workshops to learn and create songs and tunes that celebrate
the spring
❖ Go outside (please observe social distancing) and record spring sounds
❖ Take a photo or draw a picture of your favourite spring scene
❖ Tell us what is special about this time of year
Your recordings, words and images will be put together digitally to create a virtual ‘Spring
Soundscape’
Workshops will be run via Zoom. Please register for the project to receive the link to join in.
Workshop dates:
❖ Sunday 28th March, 10-11am - Welcome to Spring Listen: meet the musicians and learn a
new song
❖ Tuesday 6th April, 6.30-7.30pm - Spring Songwriting (1st of 2): Create a song together using
your suggestions
❖ Thursday 8th April, 6.30-7.30pm - Spring Music(1st of 2): Learn a new tune (You’ll need an
instrument to take part)
❖ Sunday 11th April, 10-11am - Spring Catch-up, share together what we have done so far, and
learn another new song
❖ Tuesday 13th April - Spring Songwriting (2nd of 2): Develop and finish the song
❖ Thursday 15th April, 6.30-7.30pm - Spring Music (2nd of 2): Develop the tune and add
harmonies (You’ll need an instrument to take part)
❖ Sunday 25th April, 10-11am - Finale Session: view/listen to the finished soundscape, sing and
play through everything!
