The Plough Arts Centre has two exhibition spaces and a screen on the mezzanine where we show artist's films.
Artists who are interested in applying for an exhibition at The Plough are invited to submit an application to grace@theploughartscentre.org.uk enclosing a website address/social media link, and any other material that they think would help us to understand the proposed show.
We offer occasional commissions which are advertised via social media and the exhibitions section of our website.
Main Gallery.
The Main Gallery, situated on the first floor, is approximately 11 x 7 metres. This light and airy space with wooden flooring is painted white, the skylights and large Victorian windows provide ample natural lighting.
Activities such as poetry readings and acoustic concerts take place within a section of the gallery so although we can and do show 3D work this must either be movable or placed in the half of the gallery where these events are not taking place.
This gallery is usually programmed at least 6 months in advance.
Every Christmas we hold our annual Christmas Crafts Fair which is open to regional makers. Stalls are free but there is a commission of 25% on all sales and participants are expected to man the sales desks for two sessions during the course of the show which usually lasts for about a month. Please contact grace@theploughartscentre.org.uk if you wish to enter or to find out more.
Artists’ Wall.
The ‘Artists’ Wall’ is situated on the ground floor within the Cafe Theatre.
The Plough Arts Centre charges a 30% fee on all exhibition sales or commissions in The Main Gallery and 'Artists Wall (excluding the Christmas Crafts Fair).
