Richard Wood
Richard Wood was a local artist who spent his whole life based in North Devon. At the age of 21 and already a promising young art student, Rich broke his neck in a diving accident which left him a tetraplegic. He trained himself to paint using his mouth and went on to become a professional painter for the Mouth and Foot Painters Association. Rich died at the age of 46 in January 2017. This exhibition is a celebration of his life and all that he achieved, showing work right through from his student days, encompassing traditional oils and watercolours, on to his later years when he began to explore digital art.
