Joan Stribling de'Launay is an artist who trained at Chelsea and Byam Shaw and has worked for many years as a Film,Television,Stage make-up, hair and prosthetics designer on a host of well known productions ranging from Northanger Abbey to The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy BBC [featured her original designs for Douglas Adams] She won a BAFTA CRAFT Award for her work on the film 'Vincent Van Gogh' and Royal Television Society and Design & Art Director's Awards for 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'
This exhibition features her drawings, paintings, decoupage alongside examples of her work on various productions. The two aspects of her practice have always fed into each other and the exhibition is a chance to see the relationship between them.
