Preview:ZOE HYDE and RIC HYDE
Ric Hyde and Zoe Hyde are father and daughter. They were both interviewed by documentary maker Martin Pailthorpe before their exhibition with us and a link to the two short films is included here and and on The Plough's Facebook site.
Zoe Hyde: My paintings are inspired by the landscape. There is a personal narrative within my work, using dreams, memories, photographs, drawings and prints. Fragments may be applied to the surface while painting, allowing elements of the story to emerge creating a new dialogue. Colour saturates my work to echo moods and content. I have exhibited widely within the UK including London, Newcastle, Reading, the Isle of Wight, Bristol and throughout the Southwest. I regularly exhibit at Artwave West Dorset
Ric Hyde, born London 1936: My work endeavours to capture the ludicrous, political, religious and sexual mores with which we happily snag our lives. My style and subject matter, over the years, moves fluidly between allegorical and abstraction, always in league with poetic sensibility.
Ric has shown in numerous mixed exhibitions, and his work is in private collections in UK, USA, Germany Australia and the Nordic States.
