Preview:ANDREA McLEAN
“Journey-Lines unravel on the canvas. Pathways change colour. Unfolded buildings represent thoughts, ideas, and emotion. Reflections are shown as many faceted stones. The canvas is a body where miniature figures from the imagination of sleep step forward and reach for the sun and stars of realisation. Moons and dreams light the way. Layers bring clarity where new forms can be found.”
Andrea McLean studied painting at Falmouth Art School and the Slade School of Art followed by a scholarship year at The British School at Rome. She has worked as Artist in Residence at Gloucester Cathedral. Her work is on display near the Map Room at The British Library. A prize winner at the Jerwood Drawing exhibition and an RA Summer Exhibition, she has recently taken part in exhibitions at Hereford Cathedral and the RA's Keeper's Room. She has given talks at The Blake Society, Ledbury Poetry Festival and the Thomas Traherne Association.
